Musical Astronaut

February was a busy month - We went to the Children's Museum and learned about the first space mission with the Liberty Bell. David was amazed that a man could fit into that tiny space capsule! Space is pretty cool, and we often look to the sky to see where the moon is and any planets that are visible. This morning he asked why the moon looked white, but in pictures of the moon with astronauts it looks gray. (I'll get right on that!)

We also visited the symphony for the first time. David thought the show, Beethoven Lives Upstairs, was a pretty big hit. I can tell he has an appreciation for music, and he's asked to take piano lessons next.

After the symphony, we had fun at the school's Mother-Son Game Night. He thought it was funny to wrap me up in toilet paper

Back to the gym

David asked to go back to gymnastics this spring, so he's back at the gym once a week. This time we picked a place closer to home -- at this stage he's not on the Olympic training schedule, so it should be just fine. He's working on mastering a cartwheel and can almost climb to the top of the high rope. He's having fun and making it look pretty easy so far.

Another Party?

Just when you thought it was safe...This year we tried having the friend's birthday party in January. With a birthday so close to Christmas there's not a lot of time to gather friends and have fun. Our friend Maya has a birthday in January, and because they go to school together and have been friends since daycare, it was a party for both kids!
Getting ready to play Duck, Duck, Goose. I joined in and somehow ended up inside the circle. (Not a good thing - actually kind of traumatic when you have a bunch of kids sprinkling pretend salt on your head and getting ready to eat you, but I did my part!)

Birthday friends

Opening lots of presents

Happy New Year 2017

Happy New Year Friends and Family! We welcomed the new year with a trip to Walt Disney World.
We stayed at the Art of Animation Resort. David loved our decked out room and thinks we should decorate our entire house like Little Mermaid! LOL!

We ate supper one night with Mickey and friends.

The storm troopers visited Hollywood Studios.

And here's Olaf!

Busy December

December was busy -- David turned six years old and we had lots of Christmas activities! Here's what we did:

Birthday Cake with a Mickey Mouse theme

STEM birthday presents - This is the Code and Go Robot Mouse. David also got a marble maze, a huge Snap Circuits kit and lots and lots of Legos. David joined the school's Robotics Club too.

He sang in the school's Holiday Sing. The song was called "The Penguin Polka." Super cute!

And he was Student of the Day at school the day before Christmas break. This is David with his teacher, Mrs. Eden, counting out change. They had fun wearing pajamas to school that day. I helped with his school party too (but I didn't get to wear pajamas).

Behind the scenes tour

David was fortunate enough to sell enough from the recent magazine, peanuts, and drink holder sale to go on a behind the scenes tour of Lucas Oil Stadium! He was so excited and know if he hears the word Colts on TV, he has to know what's going on. Here are so pictures from our visit.

First homework

Believe it or not-David had his first homework! A report on his favorite animal, the penguin!
